Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey is seeking a Polysomnographer Trainee to join our Sleep Lab. In this entry-level role, you will learn to prepare patients for overnight sleep studies, apply sensors, and operate diagnostic equipment under supervision.

Under a Registered Polysomnographer, you will gain hands-on experience, document observations, and participate in scoring sleep data. A NJ Polysomnographic Trainee License and BLS certification are required to begin this important journey in

Embark on a rewarding career in sleep medicine as a Polysomnographer Trainee with our dedicated Sleep Lab team. In this entry-level role, you will develop the essential skills to conduct comprehensive sleep studies, playing a crucial part in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.

Working under the direct supervision of a Registered Polysomnographer, you will receive hands-on training in preparing patients for overnight studies, applying monitoring sensors, and operating diagnostic and therapeutic equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, ASV). Key responsibilities will also include ensuring patient safety and comfort, documenting observations, and learning the process of scoring sleep data. A commitment to compassionate patient care, strong technical aptitude, and an active New Jersey Polysomnographic Trainee License, as required by state regulation, are essential to begin this exciting journey in the vital field of sleep diagnostics.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • Active NJ Polysomnographic Trainee License. If not Registered after one year of Training, will require an active NJ Polysomnographic Technician license.

  • BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Flat Rate of $34.45 Hourly
