Job summary

Brava Roof Tile seeks an experienced Material Scientist to lead formulation and product development of polymer composites for roofing applications. You will work with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Procurement to optimize performance, cost, and sustainability from lab to production.

The role requires hands-on testing (DSC/TGA/FTIR) and strong knowledge of structure–property relationships, with up to 20% travel for trials and audits. A PhD or MS with relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in polymer formulation and processing.
• Degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of structure–property relationships and compression molding.
• Hands-on with analytical tools and mechanical testing methods.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams on fast-paced projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and optimization of polymer composite formulations.
• Evaluate raw materials for consistency, processability, and performance.
• Design experiments using DOE to study formulation changes.
• Support manufacturing trials from lab to full production.
• Establish material specifications and COA criteria; ensure regulatory compliance.
