Job summary

Momentive is offering a Summer 2027 Research Intern position focused on polymers. You will gain hands‑on experience in plastics formulation, processing, testing, and data‑driven product development under a mentor’s guidance.

You will design experiments to evaluate processing additives, analyze data, and use AI/ML tools to support formulation optimization and product innovation. The program emphasizes safety and hands‑on learning.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Plastics Engineering, or Data Science.
• Basic laboratory and data‑analysis experience, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
• Ability to follow laboratory safety requirements and experimental procedures.
• Interest in learning plastics processing, material characterization, and AI/ML‑assisted formulation optimization.

Responsibilities

• Polymer Sample Preparation and Processing: training with plastics processing equipment and preparing formulations.
• Test and Characterization Method Development: develop/testing protocols and improve methods.
• AI/ML‑Assisted Product Development: apply AI/ML tools to data to optimize formulations and document results.
