Job summary

Trinseo in Exton, PA, is seeking a Polymer Processing Technologist – Extrusion & Injection Molding to support growth across business units through hands-on polymer formulations, processing, and lab testing in the Global Innovation Center.

You will work on multiple projects, prepare specimens, run tests, document results, and collaborate with chemists and engineers to deliver reliable data and process improvements while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of polymer R&D lab experience with good lab practices, or a BS/BA with 2+ years polymer processing experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in injection molding, extrusion, and other polymer processing equipment.
• Experience with DSC, TGA, TMA, FTIR, GPC preferred.
• Strong data documentation and ability to generate reliable results promptly.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare polymer formulations for processing via compounding and blending.
• Extrude, injection mold, and compress mold polymer formulations.
• Prepare test specimens and perform mechanical tests (notched Izod, tensile, impact, melt flow).
• Document observations in electronic lab notebook and analyze data.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and train operators.
