Parker Hannifin is seeking a Chemical Engineering Co-Op to join the Wickliffe, OH materials development lab. You will contribute to polymer compounding, processing, and testing for hose and tubing applications, under guidance from senior engineers.

The role emphasizes learning to operate lab-scale equipment, applying Design of Experiments, and delivering data-driven insights to advance new materials while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in polymer science/engineering, materials science/engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields.
• Strong communication skills and ability to document findings clearly.
• Team interaction and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate as an active member of the Materials Development Team under senior staff guidance.
• Learn lab-scale mixing, extrusion, molding, and polymer compounding equipment for material development.
• Conduct design of experiments and analyze mechanical and thermal properties of materials.
• Assist with pilot scale tubing production for prototype hose builds.
• Present plans, data, and results to the team and generate reports.
• Maintain safety within a zero-incident culture.
