Job summary

Greene, Tweed & Co Limited is seeking an engineer/designer to support customer-driven material selection, design proposals, and production drawings. The role involves applying polymer expertise and collaborating across engineering, sales, and manufacturing to meet specifications and drive product improvements.

The position requires a BS in engineering with 3–6 years in engineering or design, proficiency in 3D CAD and MS Office, and knowledge of FEA is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering required.
• 3–6 years in engineering or design environment.
• Experience using 3D CAD software; knowledge of FEA systems preferred.
• Strong computer literacy, especially MS Office.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
• Effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Experience in Polymer, Plastics, Elastomer design/manufacturing preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma White Belt preferred.
• U.S. Person status for ITAR access.

Responsibilities

• Recommends material based on application criteria and reviews material specifications.
• Generates and approves design proposals and communicates alignments with customer requirements.
• Ensures model accuracy, drafting standards alignment, and testing requirements for production drawings.
• Conducts moderately complex design analysis on components/assemblies and documents results.
• Defines testing/qualification methods aligned with application requirements and communicates them.
• Maintains awareness of customer/industry technical requirements and business impact.
• Supports cross-functional execution of corporate objectives and coordinates with other functions.
• Generates Product Performance analysis reports to identify failure modes and improvements.
• Dispositions finished product submitted to the Material Review Board per procedures.
• Generates Work Instructions aligned with standards and customer requirements.
• Attends technical meetings and represents GT in related activities.
