Job summary

Andersen Corporation is seeking an experienced manufacturing associate to assist in the operation and maintenance of polymer composite processes at our Minnesota facility. The role involves preventive maintenance, equipment modifications, and supporting safety and environmental compliance.

You will learn to monitor and maintain key process components and collaborate across teams to meet product specs. The position requires a high school diploma and 10 years of plastics fabrication experience,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 10 years experience in Plastics Fabrication.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and understand reports and cross train on several operations.
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem solving and leadership.
• Dependability/punctuality.
• Must be able to safely operate a PIT (Powered Industrial Truck)

Responsibilities

• Begin to understand whether equipment is functioning properly by participating in preventive maintenance, adjustments, repairs, and cleaning of equipment/work environment.
• Supports modifications and improvements of equipment to improve/maintain the operation.
• Learn to monitor pollution control equipment to ensure proper performance.
• Monitor components in the compounding process (loaders, temperature controllers, motors).
• Assist in checking and cleaning dust and fume collection systems.
• Assist in weekly worksite inspections for safety and environmental compliance.
• Assist in autonomous maintenance activities as prescribed in Data Stream.
• Survey utilities systems in operation and during repairs; propose cost-saving changes.
• Receive training from group associates on principles and job instructions.
• Collaborate with teammates and other crafts to complete projects.
• Assist in repairs of water, vacuum, pneumatic loading, and compressed air equipment and lines.
• Makes recommendations on manual, mechanical, and electrical changes.
• Record incidents of process upset and machine breakdown.
• Test process and materials produced per control plan.
• Provide attention to wood fiber production function.
• Contribute to standard practices for effective work.
• Assist Engineers in equipment/process changes.
• Maintain supply of raw materials for the process.
• Work within standard work, JBA’s, control plans, and quality specifications.
