Job summary

Andersen Corporation in Cottage Grove, MN is seeking a fabrication/assembly associate to manage material flow and operate plant equipment. You will follow safety policies, adhere to procedures and participate in 5S and maintenance activities while rotating through multiple jobs.

Responsibilities include reading reports, teamwork, problem solving, and training coworkers. Strong communication and dependability are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Minimum of one year experience in a related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities.
• Ability to read and understand reports and a willingness to cross train on several operations.
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills.
• Dependability/punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Work in a safe manner and follow safety policies. Help ensure co-workers are working safely and following safety policies.
• Follow all applicable procedures, Standardized Work, Control Plans, and Product Specifications.
• Participate in required 5S and Autonomous Maintenance activities.
• Learn, understand and implement AMS and continuous improvement concepts.
• Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities.
• Work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and Standardized Work.
• Operate manufacturing equipment and use hand tools as required.
• Rotate as required through multiple jobs.
• May or may not operate a powered industrial truck (PIT) based on operations/department need.
• Identify problems, communicate issues to Crew Leads and Supervisors, and assist with problem-solving.
• Assist with training co-workers.
• Support a respectful workplace.
• Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management.
