Job summary

Yoh is seeking a Polymer Characterization Engineer in Santa Clara to advance material understanding through rheology, spectroscopy, thermal analysis and mechanical testing. You will plan and execute studies, interpret data, and communicate results to project teams.

This role requires strong lab discipline and collaboration across material engineers and designers. Experience with the listed instruments and a MS in polymer science are preferred.

Qualifications

• MS in polymer chemistry or materials science.
• Advanced knowledge of structure–property relations in polymers.
• Experience with analytical characterization equipment listed above.
• Excellent lab practices and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform polymer characterization using rheology, DMA, FTIR, TGA, DSC, GPC, TMA, and mechanical tests.
• Lead DOE-based studies from planning to data analysis.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop new characterization methods.
• Develop test plans for material investigations and failures.
• Analyze results and present findings to engineering audiences.
• Manage multiple test requests weekly.
• Build relationships with suppliers and labs to learn new methods.
