Job summary

GEON Performance Solutions in the United States seeks a Staff Application Development Engineer to advance polymer-based material solutions, evaluating customer needs and developing materials and testing methods to meet performance specs. You will build GEON’s materials portfolio and foster relationships with the engineering community for innovative applications aligned with sustainability goals.

You will work with internal and external teams to identify opportunities, lead projects from concept

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent.
• 5 to 7 years of technical and commercial experience with plastics materials.
• Knowledge of melt processing methods and equipment.
• Proven track record of material recommendation and validation.
• Ability to translate customer needs into GEON solutions.

Responsibilities

• Engineer customer facing solutions by understanding customer and market needs.
• Develop new product plans and recommend material selections.
• Lead testing and benchmarking of materials and finished products.
• Collaborate with account managers and R&D to grow opportunities.
• Represent GEON to customers and industry partners.

Education
