Job summary

GEON Performance Solutions seeks a Technical Manager for Polymer Application Development Engineering to lead enterprise-wide ADE activities across markets. You will translate customer needs into technically validated polymer solutions, drive trials, scale-up and early commercialization, and partner with Sales, R&D, Quality, and Operations.

The role requires strong leadership, a deep polymer background, and a track record of delivering cross-functional technical programs with measurable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years in polymer materials, compounding, application development or customer-facing product development.
• Knowledge of specialty polymer compounds, engineered thermoplastics, elastomers and related formulations.
• Hands-on familiarity with compounding, extrusion, injection molding and testing/validation.
• Experience guiding products through stage-gate development and customer qualification.
• Experience with design of experiments, statistics or Six Sigma is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead multiple technical projects and influence teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead ADEs; establish objectives, accountability and development plans.
• Create enterprise-wide ADE operating model and coaching framework.
• Build cross-market ADE expertise and succession capabilities.
• Diagnose customer needs with market BDMs; translate requirements into technical plans.
• Guide material selection, testing, processing optimization and troubleshooting.
• Develop strategic customer relationships and provide senior support on complex challenges.
• Consolidate requirements into technical briefs for R&D and Product Development.
• Lead customer trials, evaluations, validation plans, scale-up and adoption.
• Govern ADE project pipeline; prioritize by value, urgency and feasibility.
• Deploy technical resources across markets and manage priorities.
• Track milestones, risk, and resource utilization; re-scope low-value work.
