Job description

An industry-leading polymer manufacturer with decades of experience developing environmentally conscious liquid polymer systems. The company creates engineered solutions in aqueous polyurethane systems, acrylic dispersions, and multi-polymer hybrids. Serving clients across functional coatings, adhesives, and graphic media, the business addresses complex formulation requirements with custom material science applications.

Position Overview

Seeking a commercially driven professional with expertise in applied polymer science to drive business growth. This role bridges technical material consulting with key account management—expanding market share for waterborne chemistry lines, providing formulation guidance, and securing new customer accounts.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute territory expansion plans within target sectors (industrial finishes, structural adhesives, surface treatments).
  • Source, evaluate, and secure commercial opportunities using consultative selling, technical pitches, and solution demonstrations.
  • Partner with client R&D and chemical engineering teams to resolve formulation challenges and recommend suitable resin technologies.
  • Maintain long-term commercial relationships through regular consultation, account management, and client support.
  • Work alongside internal R&D, production, and customer support departments to ensure accurate product fulfillment and quality standards.
  • Track market shifts, competitive intelligence, and client requirements to pinpoint emerging growth avenues.
  • Manage sales pipelines and forecast metrics using corporate CRM tools.
  • Travel domestically (approximately 40%–60%) to conduct site visits, trade exhibitions, and industry conferences.
  • Assist marketing initiatives through technical case studies, digital presentations, and industry event participation.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related physical science discipline (advanced technical degree is a plus).
  • Experience: 8+ years selling technical solutions within the chemical, surface coatings, or adhesives sectors.
  • Technical Knowledge: Working familiarity with waterborne chemistries, polyurethane dispersions, acrylic systems, or related liquid resin formulations.
  • Track Record: Proven ability to meet sales targets, manage complex deal cycles, and expand key accounts.
