Description
As a Polyurethane Line Technician I at Superior Tire & Rubber Corp., you begin by supporting experienced technicians on assigned lines. You will learn the fundamentals of polyurethane processing through on-the-job training. The primary responsibilities in the Tech I position are building molds, demolding products, and performing basic line operations while following established procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Daily overlap on to next shift to assist in-coming shift with production transition (typically < 15 minutes)
- Attend daily safety and shift start-up meetings
- Adhere to all safety policy and procedures
- R eport unsafe and/or potentially dangerous situations to senior technician or supervisory personnel immediately
- Use and monitor personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. This includes hot gloves, liners, hot sleeves, safety glasses, ear plugs, face shields, and similar safety equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area according to the principles of 5S and the Superior Production System. Tools, equipment, and measuring devices are to be kept clean and put back into place
- Keep tools, equipment, and measuring devices clean and in their place.
- Safely and properly handle inserts and molds during the molding process. This is to be done according to the standard(s)
- Verify and record pre-heat specifications as defined by the process control parameters
- Follow proper pouring process for molding production.
- Perform and record SPCs (Statistical Process Control) for inserts, molds and machines as defined by the quality standard(s)
- Able to safely use a hoist/crane to move product and material

- Full Time Non-Exempt
- Monday through Friday OR Sunday through Thursday depending on shift.
- Required to work onsite 100% of the time.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a manufacturing environment.

Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or 2 years of related work experience.
