Job summary

Avalign Technologies in Portland, OR is seeking a Polisher to polish and finish metal medical devices on a 2nd shift. You will use belts, buffing wheels, and blasting media and inspect parts for conformance to drawings and process instructions.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience required.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to use calipers and various other dimensional gauges.
• Ability to fill-out paperwork (e.g., work orders and basic dimensional forms).
• Good work history and evidence of reliability.
• Ability to read blue prints/drawings.
• Previous work experience in metal finishing is preferred but not required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and consistently document all performed tasks on appropriate records (work orders, inspection sheets, maintenance logs, and etc.).
• Inspect documents for previously completed operation sign off and verify part counts before beginning any manufacturing operation.
• Perform required maintenance checks of equipment before beginning any manufacturing operation.
• Prior to use, ensure measuring equipment has been calibrated, is not beyond calibration date, and is in good working condition.
• Follow established protocol to maintain ID & traceability of product and documentation.
• Reference applicable drawings, specifications, and Manufacturing Process Instructions before beginning any manufacturing operation.
• Follow department Standard Process Instructions.

We are looking for a Polisher located at our facility in Portland, OR for a 2nd shift schedule. The Polisher uses belts, buffing wheels, and/or blasting media along with various dimensional gauges to perform the task of polishing and metal removal/surface finishing of medical devices. Performs inspection of parts for acceptability per manufacturing prints.

What You’ll Do:

• Accurately and consistently document all performed tasks on appropriate records (work orders, inspection sheets, maintenance logs, and etc.).
• Inspect documents for previously completed operation sign off and verify part counts before beginning any manufacturing operation. If discrepancies are found, supervisor must be notified.
• Perform required maintenance checks of equipment before beginning any manufacturing operation.
• Prior to use, ensure measuring equipment has been calibrated, is not beyond calibration date, and is in good working condition.
• Follow established protocol to maintain ID & traceability of product and documentation. Notify your supervisor immediately if ID is questionable.
• Reference applicable drawings, specifications, and Manufacturing Process Instructions before beginning any manufacturing operation.
• Follow department Standard Process Instructions.
