Job summary

The Policy Manager IV at King County Water and Land Resources Division leads and shapes environmental policy, driving upstream solutions and equity-centered outcomes across King County. Reporting to the Program Director, this executive role guides a team of policy professionals and sets priorities to deliver high-impact, system-level results.

Qualifications

Progressive leadership experience in public sector policy and project management.
At least 5 years of leadership and staff supervision.
Experience with policy analysis, development, and implementation.
Experience with regulatory environments and elected officials.
Proven ability to build cross-agency partnerships and equity focus.
Excellent written and oral communication with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

Policy analysis and legislative engagement in Hazardous Waste Management.
Provide direction, oversight, and staff development within the policy team.
Advance program goals through upstream, safer, and systemic solutions.
Lead cross-agency coordination and strategic partnerships.
Provide senior leadership in long-range policy strategy and data-informed decisions.
