State of Washington is seeking a Session Aide – Legislative & Policy Specialist to support CPRP’s legislative work in the climate policy arena. You will track bills, analyze and summarize legislation, and prepare materials for decision-makers.

The role involves coordinating with internal teams, staff across departments, and external counsel; preparing for hearings, and supporting implementation plans for new laws. This is a temporary hybrid position based in Lacey, WA.

Qualifications

• Communication skills to produce accurate legislative materials and updates.
• Attention to detail in reviewing bill analyses, correspondence, and meeting materials.
• Ability to research, analyze, and summarize legislation and policies.
• Gathering, organizing, and communicating legislative information for staff awareness.
• Prepare agendas, materials, and notes for meetings, hearings, and work sessions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsabilités

• Track legislation and coordinate internal bill analysis workflows.
• Prepare summaries, analyses, and draft materials like bill analyses and fiscal notes.
• Prepare staff for legislative meetings, hearings, and work sessions; note-taking and follow-ups.
• Coordinate with CPRP, Attorney General staff, Governmental Relations, and Budget on analyses and hearings.
• Help develop implementation plans for recently passed legislation and legislative reports.
• Support scheduling, agenda development, and materials for legislative meetings.
