Job summary

LeadsOnline, a technology partner for law enforcement, seeks a Director of Legislative Affairs to lead legislative monitoring, policy strategy, and government relations. You will translate regulatory changes into actionable business guidance and manage a nationwide lobbying program.

The role reports to the Chief Legal Officer, with remote eligibility in the United States and willingness to travel for sessions and stakeholder meetings. JD or advanced degree preferred; Bachelor’s required.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in legislative affairs, government relations, public policy, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory process at both the state and federal level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing testimony, position papers, and executive-level briefings.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment on politically and legally sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-state legislative tracking and outside lobbyist relationships.
  • Experience with data privacy, data broker, or law enforcement technology policy.
  • J.D. or advanced degree in public policy, political science, or related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead legislative monitoring and analysis across states and federal level; track bills and rules affecting company products and data practices.
  • Manage external lobbyists and government relations consultants; set priorities and review work.
  • Represent LeadsOnline in meetings, hearings, and coalition efforts with law enforcement associations and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with lobbying registrations and reporting; collaborate with outside counsel and compliance staff.
  • Develop and drive policy positions; draft testimony, position papers, and talking points.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Sales to reflect regulatory changes in products and contracts.
