Job summary

The Office of Senator Adam Schiff in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Legislative Assistant to cover agriculture, nutrition, water, and rural development issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the policy portfolio, congressional or executive branch experience, and a track record of coalition building and achieving bipartisan legislative success, with strong relationships across government.

This is a full-time in-person position. Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Senator about relevant policy issues in agriculture, nutrition, water, and rural development.
• Lead the Senator's work on the Agriculture Committee and Environment and Public Works Committee.
• Represent the Senator in meetings with high-level representatives.
• Develop new and existing policy priorities with an eye toward bipartisan progress.
• Work with stakeholders in California and DC to advance policy priorities.
• Balance multiple short-term priorities while making progress on longer-term projects.
