Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Policy Implementation Coordinator to lead policy projects, translate policy into system requirements, and manage complex initiatives affecting Texas Works, SNAP, TANF, CHIP, and Medicaid programs.

The role requires strong project management, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders. Flexible telework options are available, with a primary location in Austin.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year college/university with a degree in public policy, public administration, social work, law, business, or related field.
• Must have at least two years of project management experience.
• Must have at least two years leading, coordinating, planning, tracking, managing stakeholders, and supporting major work initiatives.
• Must have at least two years working in TIERS.
• Must have at least two years SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, and MEPD Part 1 experience.
• MEPD Part 2 experience is preferred.
• Must be able to travel at least 20%.

Responsibilities

• Project management: plan and execute projects from concept through completion.
• Stakeholder engagement: collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and represent AES and Policy teams.
• Policy research and analysis: assess federal/state laws, prepare high-quality policy documents.
• Initiative and innovation: identify gaps, mitigate risks, allocate resources.
• Other duties as assigned with limited supervision.
