Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Government Relations to support state and local policy efforts, manage projects, and develop internal policy initiatives.

The role involves educating stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving policy-related strategies aligned with Ryder’s business priorities. You will analyze regulations, craft advocacy materials, and maintain relationships with policymakers as part of a broad government affairs effort.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in political science, economics, public policy or related field.
• 5+ years professional experience in government relations or related field.
• 3+ years navigating state/federal legislative, regulatory, and executive processes.
• 3+ years managing cross-functional projects or teams.
• 3+ years external affairs, public policy, or stakeholder management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Ryder's internal government relations programs and projects, including policies, controls, and documentation.
• Monitor and analyze federal, state, and local regulations and legislation; track advocacy outcomes and communicate progress and risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate government relations strategies into business planning and external messaging.
• Develop analyses, talking points, and advocacy materials; manage contributors and vendors to ensure timely delivery.
• Liaise with internal/external stakeholders including policymakers, trade associations, customers, and consultants.
