Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be attending an accredited college or university in a degree‑seeking program during employment (i.e., political science/government, urban/regional planning, public administration, or related field)
• No work experience required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
• Detail oriented and highly organized

Responsibilities

• Monitor legislative and regulatory actions at federal and state levels related to transportation and air quality
• Summarize legislation and rulemakings for supervisor review
• Draft written and oral legislative updates for supervisor review
• Prepare correspondence and educational materials to conduct outreach with elected officials at federal, state, and local levels
• Draft correspondence supporting transportation-related grant applications
• Maintain contact information for elected officials and committee members
