Job summary

Progress Residential, L.P. is seeking a Director of Government Relations to advocate before state and local officials on policies impacting the single-family rental industry.

You will work with the Vice President of Government Affairs to shape strategies, build alliances, and communicate positions effectively. Ideal candidates have 7–10 years in government relations, strong policy knowledge, and exceptional communication skills, with a track record of working with policymakers and stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 7–10 years in government relations or public policy; Capitol Hill or state experience required.
• Knowledge of state/local legislative processes and housing/real estate policy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to build relationships with policymakers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor state and local legislative proposals affecting Progress and the SFR industry.
• Develop advocacy strategies and policy positions with the VP of Government Affairs.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants for effective advocacy.
• Establish and maintain relationships with legislators, regulators and government staff.
• Prepare leadership for meetings with government officials and regulatory agencies.
