Job summary

Cornell University Library seeks a Government & Public Policy Librarian to serve as liaison to the Cornell Department of Government and the Brooks School of Public Policy. You will contribute to planning, providing and assessing a wide range of research and instructional services, including in-person and digital formats.

Qualifications

• Master's in library science (ALA-accredited) or related social science degree.
• Minimum five years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with students, scholars, and library colleagues.
• Experience searching federal, municipal, and international data portals and government document archives.
• Academic background in social science or library experience in social science.
• Commitment to learning, research, and outreach in a diverse community.
• Evidence of professional service or scholarship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison to the Department of Government and Brooks School of Public Policy.
• Provide and assess research, instruction, and reference services in-person and virtually.
• Select materials for government, public policy, and social science collections.
• Develop resources and services to help researchers discover data and government documents.
