Job summary

Metropolitan Family Services seeks a Manager of Government Affairs & Policy to lead the agency’s policy development, legislative advocacy, and government relations strategy. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field.
• Minimum of five (5) years in public policy, government affairs, or nonprofit advocacy.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local legislative processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead federal, state, and local legislative and public policy advocacy.
• Develop and maintain relationships with elected officials and government agencies.
• Represent the agency in meetings, coalitions, and advocacy activities.
• Monitor legislative developments and guide agency response to policy issues.
• Develop advocacy strategies and policy recommendations aligned with the agency’s priorities.
• Oversee staff including interns; provide mentorship and performance management.
• Coordinate policy research, advocacy initiatives, and legislative engagement across teams.
