Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Analyst/Editor to support a federal agency’s policy team from a remote location. You will draft, edit, and format responses, prepare procedures, and assist with FOIA and congressional inquiries.

You will coordinate approvals, provide leadership updates, and deliver research and editorial support on topics like child welfare, foster care, and family reunification, ensuring clear communication for diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in public policy, social work, law, journalism, or related field.
• 4–5 years of relevant experience with a BA.
• Strong copy-editing, research, and writing skills.
• Experience with immigrant, refugee, and underserved populations preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Adobe suite and MS Office (Excel, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, format, and review responses, recommendations, policies, procedures, reports, and other documents for grammar, accuracy, and compliance.
• Manage and coordinate the approval and clearance process and provide updates to leadership as needed.
• Provide research and editorial support to the Intergovernmental Affairs team on issues including child welfare systems, foster care, child abuse and neglect, family reunification.
• Coordinate with the data team to collect information and compile responses to FOIA requests, Congressional inquiries, and other inquiries.
• Review and edit procedures and program guidance regarding program clients and populations served by the agency.
• Coordinate internal and external reviews and compile recommendations for the policy team based on feedback.
• Conduct research to inform the development of talking points, memoranda, reports, briefings, analyses, and materials for stakeholders.
• Support inter-agency coordination of agency program functions and development of meeting content.
• Support special projects as needed.
