Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced Local Policy Regional Manager to lead the company’s state and local government affairs related to data center sites. You will engage with cities, counties, and regional bodies to advance infrastructure investment and permitting while aligning with Meta’s site strategy.

The role requires frequent travel and reports to the Public Policy Manager, Local Government Affairs. This remote position is open to candidates in Texas or Louisiana and demands strong policy advocacy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in political science, business/strategy, economics, legal, communications, public relations, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in state or local public policy, advocacy, or government affairs.
• Experience with the political process, policymakers, and stakeholders in data center site locations.
• Knowledge of technology, infrastructure, data center, and economic development policy and advocacy in the region.
• Experience working cross-functionally.
• Experience creating and implementing advocacy campaigns relevant to state and local government with milestones.
• Creative problem-solving, negotiation, and multi-tasking in time-sensitive settings.
• Ability to communicate nuanced concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead Meta's local government affairs efforts across current and future data center sites in the United States.
• Build and execute a local government affairs strategy for the region to advance data center site objectives across cities, counties, municipalities, and regional bodies.
• Work with local policymakers and officials to advance data center infrastructure investment, permitting, and economic development.
• Monitor political environment and identify opportunities to advance local policies benefiting Meta and communities.
• Partner with Infrastructure and Data Center teams to align local policy engagement with site selection and development timelines.
• Collaborate with industry groups, nonprofits, and associations to promote economic development and an open internet.
• Engage with chambers of commerce, industry associations, nonprofits, and civil society to advance priorities.
• Provide timely updates to cross-functional partners on local policy developments.
• Manage relationships with local policymakers, contract lobbyists, and trade associations.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.
