Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced leader to build and manage local government affairs for its data center site strategy across the United States. You will lead a team of regional local policy managers and personally manage priority localities. A strong track record in public policy, political engagement, and team leadership is required.

The role reports to the Director of State Policy and can be based in Washington, DC; Austin, TX; or remote in Texas. Frequent travel is required up to 80% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field as listed.
• 12+ years of local or state public policy or government affairs experience.
• Experience leading teams of managers or senior contributors.
• Experience with policymakers and stakeholders at local/state levels.
• Knowledge of technology, infrastructure, data center, and economic development policy.
• Cross-functional collaboration with internal/external stakeholders.
• Experience creating advocacy campaigns for local/state government.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of regional local policy managers and set priorities for local government engagement nationwide.
• Build and execute a national local government affairs strategy supporting data center site objectives.
• Engage directly with local policymakers to advance data center infrastructure investment and permitting.
• Monitor political environment and identify opportunities to advance local policies benefiting Meta and communities.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Data Center teams to align policy engagement with site timelines.
• Partner with industry groups and associations to promote Meta's data center priorities.
• Provide timely updates to cross-functional partners on local policy developments.
• Coordinate with Community Engagement to engage chambers of commerce and civil society.
• Represent Meta before local governments and coordinate advocacy campaigns with regional counterparts.
• Manage relationships with policymakers, contract lobbyists, and trade associations.
• Travel up to 80% as needed.
