Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking a Manager of Accountability to lead internal audit, policy development, and charter compliance across the network. The role emphasizes enterprise risk management and reporting to the VP of Accountability.

The position is full-time with hybrid flexibility based at HDQ in Washington, DC, starting August 1st. Strong collaboration with school teams and cross-functional partners is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in internal audit, compliance, risk management, charter school accountability, or related field.
• Experience driving cross‑functional projects with stakeholders across teams.
• Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and communicate findings clearly in written and verbal formats.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute KIPP DC's annual internal audit cycle, including risk-based plans.
• Conduct audit fieldwork across operations and financial processes.
• Prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations for management.
• Monitor corrective action plans and escalate unresolved items.
• Stay current on internal audit best practices and standards for K‑12 charter school operations.
• Annually review and update staff policies and handbook in collaboration with teams.
• Monitor charter obligations and provide compliance reporting and dashboards.
