Job summary

The National Governors Association seeks a Policy Analyst (workforce development and economic policy) to support governors on workforce and economic policy issues. The position is onsite in Washington, DC, full-time, exempt, reporting to the Policy Director.

The analyst will develop practice briefs, organize events, and provide technical assistance to state policymakers. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in public policy or related field and 1–3 years of relevant experience; strong MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public policy or related field.
• 1–3 years experience in workforce development or economic policy.
• MS Office proficiency and strong analytical/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize and facilitate state learning opportunities including virtual, in-person, and hybrid events.
• Facilitate panel discussions, state strategy sessions, and other events for governors and senior state policy staff.
• Provide state technical assistance for multiple program and policy issues.
• Develop blog posts, white papers, issue briefs, presentations, and memos on policy issues.
• Build and maintain relationships with high-level policymakers and key stakeholders.
• Support governors and senior advisors in response to requests for assistance.
• Travel as necessary.
