Job summary

The Department of Economic Security (DES) in Arizona is seeking a Policy Analyst in the Division of Business Services. You will draft and revise policies for accounts receivable and collections across multiple DES programs, ensuring alignment with laws, CFRs, and audits, while supporting staff in implementing new procedures.

Qualifications

• Research, analyze, and interpret State and Federal legislation for impact on DES policies.
• Update and draft administrative collection policies and procedures.
• Ensure policies comply with State and Federal laws and CFR.

Responsibilities

• Research laws and regulations for DES overpayments and determine due process.
• Review rules for civil/criminal collections and track payments.
• Review regulations to determine interest charges and penalties.
• Manage eDRS to identify overpayments and trafficking of benefits.
• Report information to Federal/State/County officers and support enforcement actions.
