Job summary

AltaGas in Washington, DC is seeking a policy coordinator to work with the Advocacy team to advance policy goals at federal, state, and local levels. You will assist in monitoring policy developments, draft communications, track metrics, and support outreach to government officials.

Strong written and oral communication skills, plus data analysis and visualization, will help translate complex information for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, communications, or related field is preffered
• 0-2 years of experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for a broader audience.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills (including both quantitative and qualitative analysis).
• Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively, both orally and in writing, and must be able to present information in a clear and concise manner.
• Candidate should be eager to learn about the industry and should do well working both independently and as a part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring, researching, tracking to local, state and federal policy developments and issues
• Assist in drafting communications for public affairs campaigns
• Weekly tracking and reporting of metrics related to campaigns
• Support government affairs and outreach to government officials as directed
• Draft fact sheets and other collateral related to policy and advocacy priorities
• Develop advocacy and policy-related updates relevant to the company that will be shared through newsletter, social media, etc.
