Washington Gas seeks a senior public policy professional to represent the company before District of Columbia state and local government bodies and related business organizations. You will develop and execute an annual public policy strategy and public affairs program for legislative initiatives and advise on advocacy strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Business Administration or related field required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 7+ Years experience in state and community relations required.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts legislative and policy analysis to determine impact on the company and develops public policy strategies.
  • Coordinates day-to-day execution of approved advocacy strategies before local audiences and DC to influence business outcomes.
  • Establishes and maintains key state and local public policy relationships for the Company.
  • Develops strategies which may lead to new business opportunities for Washington Gas units.
  • Networks with business organizations and industry advocates to anticipate policy issues and trends.
