Job summary

AltaGas, the parent company of Washington Gas, is hiring a Policy & Advocacy Coordinator to support the Advocacy team at federal, state, and local levels. The role focuses on policy-related activities, programs, research, and communications to engage advocates and stakeholders and advance the company’s mission.

You will monitor developments, draft communications, track metrics, and assist with outreach to government officials. A Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, communications, or related field is preffered
  • 0-2 years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring, researching, tracking to local, state and federal policy developments and issues
  • Assist in drafting communications for public affairs campaigns
  • Weekly tracking and reporting of metrics related to campaigns
  • Support government affairs and outreach to government officials as directed
  • Draft fact sheets and other collateral related to policy and advocacy priorities
  • Develop advocacy and policy-related updates relevant to the company that will be shared through newsletter, social media, etc.
