Town of Gilbert is seeking a Police Service Aide to manage the police fleet, prepare vehicles by installing equipment, perform repairs and routine maintenance, and ensure units are ready for service.

The role requires coordinating repairs, tracking inventory of cones and gear, coordinating transport for maintenance, and communicating with management to prioritize work and support safe, effective patrol operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of experience coordinating repairs and maintenance of vehicles.
• Knowledge of motor vehicles and special police equipment to evaluate needed repairs.
• Knowledge of mobile computer systems and basic functioning.

Responsabilités

• Ensures new police vehicles are properly equipped and functioning before service.
• Evaluates daily repair needs and schedules repairs with vendors or Fleet Division.
• Coordinates transportation to shuttle vehicles for maintenance to not disrupt patrols.
• Maintains inventory of equipment in vehicles.
• Evaluates need to disable police radios during repairs or maintenance.
• Researches and communicates equipment costs and functionality to management.
• Prioritizes work and communicates priorities to management.
• Other duties as assigned.
