Job summary

Gilbert Public Schools is seeking a Vehicle Tech II to keep district vehicles in safe operating condition. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain school buses and other district vehicles, ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.

The role involves performing preventive maintenance, road tests, and documenting repairs and costs. Candidates must have a high school diploma and appropriate certifications, with a valid DPS fingerprint clearance and a CDL Class B license

Qualifications

Job related experience is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess a valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card; CDL Class B with P&S endorsements; 609 Refrigerant certificate.

Responsibilities

Adjusts parts and systems to ensure vehicle fitness and proper operation.
Checks fluids, tires, batteries, belts and other items to identify needed repairs.
Diagnoses vehicle malfunctions to determine repairs or replacements.
Performs road tests to confirm safe vehicle operation.
Prepares repair and maintenance documentation for compliance with requirements.
Maintains tools and shop area to ensure safe, ready-to-use equipment.
