Job summary

The City of Antioch is seeking Police Trainees. This is a temporary, non-sworn position during academy. Trainees earn $31.80/hour plus medical, vision, and dental benefits.

Upon successful completion and transition to sworn Officer, the annual salary ranges from $115,608 to $140,532 plus benefits. Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or GED, age 20 years 6 months, valid California Class C driver’s license, and successful completion of required tests and background checks (including

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED is required.
• Age 20 years and 6 months at time of appointment.
• Must possess a valid California Class C driver’s license.
• Must meet POST medical standards and pass background checks including polygraph and fingerprint clearance.
• NTN/PELLETB exam or passing score requirement.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a comprehensive POST training program at a POST approved academy.
• Support operations under supervision while in training.
• Transition to sworn Police Officer upon successful academy completion.
