Job summary

The City of West Linn Police Department is seeking a Police Sergeant to lead, mentor, and collaborate with officers and community partners to uphold professionalism, service, and excellence.

As a supervisor and role model, you will plan and oversee assigned duties, ensure compliance with laws and Departmental policies, and actively participate in programs that strengthen public trust and safety within the City of West Linn.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains a positive work environment for members of the Department through policy administration, clear expectations, cooperation and respect.
• Maintains positive relationships with contacts inside and outside the City organization.
• Supervises daily patrol, investigative and administrative activities.
• Performs routine police duties such as patrols, report writing, investigations, public inquiries, courtroom testimony, CPR, AED and basic first aid at scenes.
• Supervises and evaluates the work performance of officers for compliance with policies and legal obligations.
• Reviews written reports by officers for content, accuracy and completeness.
• Participates in the interview process and provides recommendations to the Captain or Chief.
