Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from high school or equivalent GED.
• Must obtain AA or AS degree within two years of appointment.
• DPSST Intermediate certificate required; Supervisory training through DPSST within one year of probation.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assigns patrol, investigative and administrative activities.
• Directs briefing and planning for patrol/detective shifts; assigns tasks and evaluates performance.
• Manages crime scenes, interviews witnesses, interrogates suspects and processes evidence.
• Acts as a liaison during hiring, promotions, and transfers; participates in candidate reviews.
