Summary:
Under direction, performs protective work by supervising a staff of police and security officers. Responsible for planning and directing security operations during shifts. Trains and supervises subordinate personnel, conducts safety and security inspections, identifies potential safety and security issues, and provides corrective advice. Ensures all directives, instructions, and information from the Director are communicated to shift personnel. Performs other related duties as required.

Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, volunteers, medical staff, and the public by responding to emergencies, supervising police and security personnel, and maintaining law and order.

Qualifications
Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Professional Experience: Three years of experience as a sworn law enforcement officer preferred.
Licensure/Registration/Certification: North Carolina driver's license and Basic Law Enforcement Training Certification from the North Carolina Department of Justice, Division of Standards and Training, are required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Effective communication skills, including active listening, critical thinking, and the ability to convey information verbally and in writing. Ability to document events and prepare reports. Experience with computer software related to business and medical fields preferred. Knowledge of police administration, staff management, equipment management, and security systems.
Work Environment: Climate-controlled indoor environment with exposure to outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens requiring protective equipment.
Physical Requirements: Active work involving office tasks and patrols. Visual acuity for surveillance systems, ability to communicate clearly, walk or stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and exert physical effort up to 100 pounds occasionally. Visual and auditory capabilities are essential.
