City of West Allis Police Department is accepting applications for the position of police officer to establish an eligibility list for current and future vacancies. Applicants must be Wisconsin-certified and have LESB-recognized academy training to be eligible.

Minimum requirements include 21+ years old, U.S. citizenship, valid driver’s license, and typing ability of 30 wpm. Residency must be established within eighteen months of employment.

Formación

• Typing at least 30 words per minute.

Responsabilidades

• Stop vehicles to investigate, cite or arrest occupants.
• Investigate vehicle accidents and respond to emergencies.
• Direct traffic at accidents, parades, crime scenes and for emergency vehicles.
• Coordinate actions of officers arriving as backups.
• Collect evidence and maintain chain of custody at scenes.
• Assist paramedics and EMTs with treatment of injured people.
• Explain rights to offenders and testify in court when required.

Educación

Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field

Associates Degree in Police Science or related field

60 college credits in Police Science/Criminal Justice
