Job summary

Gainesville Police Department is seeking a trainee to complete the P.O.S.T. Certified basic academy and participate in the department’s Field Training Program.

Trainees will receive a 5% pay increase upon academy completion and transition to a Police Officer upon successful completion of the Field Training Program with a corresponding pay grade change. Starting salary for non-certified applicants is $50,564.80 per year, plus 10 paid holidays.

• Develops awareness and understanding of the functions and responsibilities of a Police Officer during training.
