The Position
The East Bay Regional Park District's Police Department serves over 25 million annual visitors across 73 parks in Alameda and Contra Costa counties, covering 1,750 square miles. We are a POST-recognized law enforcement agency with 71 sworn officers, offering units such as Air Support, Marine, Equestrian, K-9, Special Enforcement, Investigations, and a 24-hour Communications Center. What You'll Be Doing: Under general supervision, often independently, you'll serve as a peace officer, providing police services and public assistance aligned with our mission.

Selection Process: Applications meeting minimum qualifications are reviewed by a panel. The best candidates are contacted for testing. Possession of minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview. Background, psychological, and medical evaluations are part of the process. The probation period is 12 months.
Minimum Qualifications: Valid California POST Basic Certificate, proof of completion of POST-specific field training, U.S. citizenship or eligible for citizenship, at least 21 years old, high school diploma or GED plus college units, and relevant law enforcement experience.
Additional Requirements: Valid California driver’s license, clean background, physical and mental fitness, willingness to work varied shifts, and possibly higher pay based on experience and education.
