Position Overview
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Police Officer II. Perform all duties normally associated with employment as a licensed police officer; including preventive patrol, arrest, search seizure, traffic enforcement, crash investigation, public safety and service, investigation of criminal incidents, and maintaining public order on the university campus and surrounding area. Work involves patrolling day and night all campus areas, buildings and parking lots. Police Officers must exercise good judgment and discretion in dealing with violators of laws and University regulations. Police Officers may be required to work special assignments, special events or be on call.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED equivalent. Must be at least 20.5 years of age at time of application. The State of Texas requires all peace officers to be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident of the United States. If a legal permanent resident, the applicant must be an honorably discharged veteran of the armed forces of the United States with at least two years of service before discharge and presents evidence satisfactory to the commission that the person has applied for United States citizenship.

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Bachelors Degree in business, criminal justice, sociology, computer science or related field. Bilingual English/Spanish.
