Job Title: Sr. Police Officer II at UPMC Horizon Shenango Valley Hospital

Purpose:

Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property. Enforce hospital rules, patrol facilities, investigate incidents, monitor alarms, and respond to emergencies, including violent acts. Provide excellent customer service, serve as a first responder, and be armed with a firearm. Oversee shift operations and lead the department's daily activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage evidence control related to criminal investigations.
  • Respond to acts of violence, potentially deploying deadly force as per policy.
  • Support various investigations with system-wide implications.
  • Properly handle and deploy firearms.
  • Issue PA state citations using law enforcement applications.
  • Investigate incidents reported by staff, visitors, physicians, and patients.
  • Perform as a Security Officer when required.
  • Escalate issues appropriately.
  • Transport individuals under criminal arrest.
  • Serve legal documents such as warrants and subpoenas.
  • Lead shift operations, organize work, and instruct staff.
  • Support multiple facilities, understanding their layouts and policies, and interacting effectively with management and staff across sites.
