City of Boerne is seeking a Police Officer I to protect residents and property, patrol assigned areas, and enforce laws. The role involves responding to emergencies, directing traffic, collecting statements, and maintaining detailed incident records.

The position requires a high school diploma and related police experience, plus knowledge of Texas laws and certification requirements. A strong commitment to public service and Boerne values is essential.

Formación

• Education: High school graduation, or its equivalent, plus at least one year of related police experience (some college work in law enforcement preferred)
• Knowledge of traffic law, Texas Penal Code, city ordinances and TABC laws; radar operation and applicable procedures of use; and the use and care of vehicles, firearms, and specialized equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Patrols an assigned area, by vehicle or on foot, to prevent crimes and enforce laws and ordinances.
• Responds to emergency calls and routine complaints and disturbances, including domestic disputes and burglar alarms, and takes necessary action.
• Directs traffic, escorts traffic, operates traffic radar monitoring equipment, and issues traffic citations.
• Questions witnesses, complaints, and suspects, and takes statements and depositions.
• Keeps records of activities and makes reports concerning crimes, complaints, accidents, and investigations.
