Job summary

The City of Burleson is seeking a Police Officer to perform routine patrol, enforce laws, and handle traffic duties. Position mainly assigned to Patrol with possible Detective assignment. Applicants without TCOLE may take entrance exam; certified officers or those near graduation may be exempt. Required: high school diploma, 30 college credits, TCOLE certification, Texas driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 30 Hours of college credit are required.
• TCOLE certification for Police Officer.
• Valid Class C Texas driver's license with a good driving record.
• DD214 for prior military service, if applicable

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the performance of routine preventive patrol, law enforcement, traffic enforcement and control and other related law enforcement duties as needed.
• This position is assigned mainly to Patrol, but may be assigned to Detective as necessary.
