Job summary

The City of Apache Junction is seeking qualified Police Officers to join its Public Safety Patrol team. Positions require AZPOST certification and a commitment to protecting life and property in Apache Junction, AZ.

The role includes patrolling, responding to calls, preparing reports, and collaborating with agencies. A competitive hourly salary and a $6,000 hiring incentive are provided to support onboarding.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED or AZPOST certification within six months of appointment.
• AZPOST certification or academy completion is required for eligibility.
• Experience meeting the AZPOST prerequisites is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol a designated area by vehicle or on foot to deter crime and enforce laws.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls; provide first aid/CPR and evacuations when needed.
• Prepare detailed incident reports, forms, summonses and scene diagrams.
• Coordinate with officers and supervisors to plan arrests or strategies.
• Secure crime scenes, collect evidence, locate witnesses and interview victims.
• Conduct investigations and testify in civil/criminal proceedings when required.
• Support policies and safety procedures; cooperate with other departments.
