  • Training Step: $70,346.86
  • Step One: $76,241.34
  • Step Two: $87,496.13
  • Step Three: $98,756.98

Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Criminal Justice, Police Science, Criminology, Government, Political Science, Public Administration, or related field.
    • Uncertified applicants: successful entrance into and completion of a State-certified Basic Peace Officer training program. City will pay academy tuition fees; new hires receive full pay and benefits during academy. Lateral transfers must provide proof of OPOTA certification.
    • Minimum age 21 by August 14, 2025; must be under 45 on August 14, 2025 (exceptions for prior sworn officers). Valid Ohio Driver’s License at time of appointment.
    • United States citizen or permanent resident.
    • Background must be free of prior felony convictions.
  • Skills and abilities:

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to perform essential job functions; vision correctable to 20/20 with no color deficiencies affecting duties
    • Must meet physical fitness standards as prescribed by the Academy
Hiring Process Details
  • After examination, top candidates (minimum top 30 by cumulative score) will be notified to schedule a panel interview. More than 30 may proceed depending on vacancies and ties.
  • Candidates not advancing will be notified within 30 days.
  • Progressing candidates must meet entrance requirements for Ohio Basic Peace Officer Training Academy.
  • The City of Dublin does not accept PAT through NTN. PAT testing will be conducted by Dublin Police Department after panel interviews (mandatory on March 22, 2025).
