Job description

Join to apply for the Police Officer 2 - 2nd Shift role at Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services

  • Performs police related duties per hospital policy
  • Secures buildings and grounds by foot or vehicle patrol
  • Advises the public of policies
  • Escorts visitors to visitation
  • Assists nursing staff during emergency codes per policy
  • Conducts investigations on alleged violations of hospital policy
  • Completes documentation as required

This is an hourly position covered by the State of Ohio Unit 2 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 10 on the Unit 2 Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are variable. The position is located within COBH at 2200 W. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43223.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a certificate having successfully completed an approved basic peace officer training program or completion of 20 years active duty as a peace officer per Section 109.78(D) of Ohio Revised Code; valid driver's license. Probationary period is one year. Must be able to perform Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Program (OPOTC) Fitness Testing Entry Standards for New Recruits.
