Albany State University is seeking a Police Officer to patrol campuses, monitor security systems, and respond to calls for service to protect students, staff, and visitors. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and certification by the state training council.
A valid driver’s license and effective communication are essential. Applicants should be able to work flexible shifts, assist in maintaining a 24-hour operation, and conduct investigations as needed.
Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia. Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 209.
The primary duty of the Police Officer is to provide campus security by patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points. Required to answer calls for service involving parking, fire, and traffic complaints. Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, and visitors in the campus community. Able to work flexible shifts and hours.
Experience with a law enforcement or public safety agency helpful.
